The Wool Monty - 2019

Well, what a day it was doing the Wool Monty at the Fly DSA arena in Sheffield!

Talk about 'things to see and do'?! Let's jump straight in, shall we?

We arrived after a yummy McDonald's breakfast and a little faff with our sat nav which tried to take us past flippin' Liverpool, LIVERPOOL for crying out loud. Anyway we got in the queue, becoming more and more psyched to see our very own Woolfull's first massive yarn event.

And then we were in! There was wool, wool and more wool as far as the eye could see, it was brilliant.

My favourite stall by far was Holly Heartfelt. If you're a Studio Ghibli fan at all, which I very much am, then this one will have you hook, line and sinker too!

Just look at this sparkly gorgeousness from All's Wool that Ends Wool, absolutely LOVING the pun by the way.

Lana Bou was an absolute delight, and after seeing her Instagram post about her gorgeous goody bags I knew that our rule of buy something on the second go around was going to be broken very quickly. And lo, as soon as I got even a sniffter of her stall I was already rummaging in my bag for my purse!

And I opened my lovely goody bag to all of this crochet-y, woolly goodness!

It was so wonderful to see so much, well, wool. And so many people gathering to appreciate the versatility and downright wonderfulness (yes it's a word) of the world of wool and yarn. Some of the gorgeous makes we saw included these:

And here's my haul in all its' glory! I got some fancy colourful darning needles and some stitch markers mainly because they look like little balls of wool, a Clover yarn cutter because I'm a magpie for shiny, pretty things, three balls of Caron Simply Soft in varying shades of pink, a big ball of Bernat Blanket wool, a Lana Bou goody bag, a postcard from Rockamolly Designs because that is literally my crafty happy place and the BEST buy of all - an 'Alpaca the bags' tote bag from Homespun Wonders and some ocean-y stitch markers, one of which is a mermaid and I LOVE mermaids.

I seriously can't look at that bag without smiling, I laughed aloud as soon as I saw it and I'll treasure it forever!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my brilliant outing to what turned out to be a wonderful yarn show. Please feel free to take a look at my past blog posts such as 2018's Yarndale, using Stitch Swatches to your advantage and many more, and keep up with me on my social media - the links are at the top of the page - to see what I've been making etc.

Toodles!
