Blogger Spotlight: K.A.M.E Crochet

Hello again!

I've made it a little mission of mine to shine the spotlight on some of my very favourite crocheters, be they pattern designers or just lovers of the craft like me! So as you can probably tell from the title, this post will be all about the extremely talented Hungarian crochet pattern designer K.A.M.E Crochet.

I first came across K.A.M.E Crochet, or Krisztina, when I found her intricate Sakura Market Bag pattern for FREE, I hasten to add. I'm quite an admirer of Japanese culture so anything with a sakura blossom on it is sure to catch my eye. Seeing the flower so beautifully woven in her brightly coloured wool as well made it just so pretty! So I reached out to her to see if she'd like to be featured on my little blog and the rest as they say is history.

Left to right: my own two WIPs of Krisztina's market bag pattern. And finally Krisztina's finished original.

Krisztina started crocheting in August 2017 while pregnant with her son, she originally wanted to put a nice edging on a knitted blanket she'd made especially for his arrival and as the saying goes - she was hooked! She started out the way a lot of crocheters did nowadays - by watching Youtube tutorials, but soon found written patterns were easier to follow and the very next year (2018) she was making her own patterns.

If you're curious about how she thought up her name as I was, it was her husbands idea to put together the initals of her name: Krisztina Anna Matejcsok-Edomer. Keep an eye on Krisztina's social media as she's currently working on a new big blanket pattern called the Ellerina Blanket. You can find her Instagram here and her Facebook here.

The next things on my to-make list of hers is her pretty sakura flower face scrubbies and her Puff and Thistle Soap Saver as I have some Ricorumi wool that would look great in these patterns.

I hope you've enjoyed reading all about K.A.M.E Crochet. If you know of any other crochet pattern designers or just avid crocheters like myself, feel free to comment and let me know, as I'm always on the look-out for new social media accounts to follow and drool over.

And if you've enjoyed my post, please do take a look at my other blog posts and social media, the links are all at the top of the page.

Until next time, toodles!
