Claudia the Cactus pattern

I always love a spontaneous crochet project. I don’t really like to crochet something more than once in the exact same way, I either change up the colours or move on altogether; it keeps me interested and excited. So, when I was trying to think of a birthday present for a lovely work colleague, I remembered she loves cacti and voila, I stumbled across this amazing pattern for Camilla the Cactus on Spin a Yarn crochet blog (you can find the pattern here).

I raided my yarn stash and found my cactus colours, (is that a thing? It is now) and off I went. The pattern was so easy to follow and took me an evening to complete. And so Claudia the Cactus was born:
