Hello-hello from a very sunny Peak District!
After a little bit of mania (moving house, baby showers, hen-dos and all that jazz), I finally have a few minutes to put together a shiny new blog post for you guys!
So, I started my very own crochet club about two months ago. The first one was a HUGE success as you can see.

And since then the group has continued to be very busy, even gaining a few regulars, much to my utter delight!

I have found that starting beginners off by just practicing the chain stitch is a big help, as many of the people I’ve taught have never even picked up a crochet hook before. This way they can get a feel for the movement of crocheting.
The patterns I usually start with vary between either the hexagon pattern which you can find here, or the traditional granny square pattern which you can find here. Also, a little shout out to Cherry Heart Crochet blog, her posts are so, SO helpful, with diagrams to help you every step of the way.
I’m sure any crocheter will tell you, these patterns are a good starting point. And once you’ve learned the basic stitches, there’s no stopping you!
